We got told no.

Rejected for our home loan. Standing in that meeting, realising we'd done everything we thought we were supposed to do, and it still wasn't enough.

That's the moment Financial Haven actually started, even though we didn't know it yet.

We walked out and did the work. Actually looked at our numbers. Read the books. Got brutally honest with each other about where our money was really going — which, if you've ever had that conversation with a partner, you'll know is not always a comfortable one.

We went back. We got accepted.

And we didn't stop there. We've since settled on our fourth property.

But here's the part that actually mattered more than the money: the biggest shift wasn't the numbers. It was retraining how we thought about money in the first place.

That's the piece most people miss. It was ours too, for a long time.

THE NUMBERS SIDE

Kody's the numbers guy

Excel enthusiast. Chronically calm. Slightly obsessed with automations.

The one who'll build you a plan that actually makes sense, not just a spreadsheet that looks nice for a week and then gets ignored.

THE MINDSET SIDE

Lyndsie's the mindset side

Will rewire your brain. Gently relentless. Professional overthinker (in recovery).

Already coaching people on the money stuff going on in their head, years before Financial Haven existed.

At some point, it just made sense to put those two things together.

Because a plan without the mindset work doesn't stick. And mindset without a real structure doesn't pay the bills.

So we built what we wish we'd had.... the structure, the strategy, and the mindset work, in one place.

And that's how Financial Haven was born.

These days, money isn't the thing hanging over every conversation. It's just... handled. Which frees up space for the stuff that actually matters- us, the dogs, the life we were trying to build the whole time.

Now we help everyday couples get to that same place.
